One-of-a-kind and beautiful Elgin AUTOMATIC automaton display (advertising for retailers) from the 1930s.The wooden displays shows a lighted billboard with the text “No more winding! Thin Thin self winding watches.” In front a red vintage car which had to be started by turning a krank handle by hand and a man bending down in front of the car and doing so. The automatic watch which winds itself seems to be a revolutionary invention in comparison. The automaton is driven by a 119/60 Hertz motor, but can easily adapted to a 220V. Perfect for the shop window to display Elgin watches from that time. A true collector´s piece, museum´s quality.
