Description
A fine and rare LeCoultre Atmos V, model CHINOISE (Marina), signed by the artist, showing a Chinese landscape. According to LeCoultre documents, the watch was offered from 1963 to 75 under the name Modelle Plexi Grave in 4 different motifs and two colors. Ref. 5805, in white. The artist, Marina, had developed a special technique for engraving and coloring cavities in the plastic block, resulting in a three-dimensional representation from the front. Here is a Chinese landscape. It is often wrongly assumed and spread that the “Marina” always shows maritime motifs. The Plexiglas plates are all hand-engraved and covered with gold paint, except for the roof plate. Each clock is therefore unique. This type of watch usually has slight stress cracks in the plexiglass, but these are barely visible on this watch. Caliber 526 in excellent condition.
The brass parts of the case and movement are newly chrome-plated.
The chrome-plated silver case gives the plexiglass panels a completely different appearance.
This watch is a work of art, beautiful in our eyes and of course unique
