Jaeger Le-Coultre sold from the 20ies to the 40ies highly attractive clocks, mostly with 8-day movement and some on top of that with alarm or other features. These clocks are ART DECO Masterpieces and appeal not only to watch, as well to Art Deco aficionados. THis is a table desk clock from the 40ies, where we believe manufacturers used because of metal still being rationed other materials (like wood) to build attractive products.
